NEET UG 2026 Result: Latest Update, Expected Date and How to Check Your Scorecard

A Result Delayed by an Unprecedented Exam Cycle

NEET UG 2026 has been one of the most disrupted exam cycles in recent years. The original exam, held on May 3, 2026, 

was cancelled by the National Testing Agency after allegations surfaced that question papers had leaked and were 

circulating on messaging platforms before the exam. Following this, a re-examination — commonly referred to as Re-NEET

— was conducted on June 21, 2026, under tightened security measures.

Since then, candidates have been waiting for the result, and naturally, there's a lot of confusion online about the exact date. 

Here is where things stand as of now.

Where the Result Process Currently Stands

After the Re-NEET exam, NTA released scanned copies of the OMR answer sheets along with recorded responses, 

giving candidates a chance to verify their answers were captured correctly. The window to raise objections against any 

incorrectly recorded responses closed on July 15, 2026. NTA is now reviewing these objections before finalizing the answer key, 

which is the last major step before the result itself can be prepared.

Based on this timeline, the result is widely expected to be declared between July 18 and July 20, 2026, though NTA 

has not issued an official confirmation of the exact date at the time of writing. Candidates should treat any specific date 

circulating on social media as unconfirmed until it appears on the official NTA website.

How to Check Your NEET 2026 Result Once It's Declared

When the result goes live, here's the process to follow:

Visit the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Look for the result or scorecard link on the homepage once it becomes active. 

Log in using your application number along with your date of birth or password, as required. Your scorecard will display on screen, 

showing your marks, percentile, and All India Rank. Download and save a copy of your scorecard immediately, and take a 

printout for your records, since you'll need it during counselling.

Avoid relying on unofficial third-party links claiming to show your result early — NTA has consistently stated that the 

result will be available only through the official portal.

What Your Scorecard Will Show

Once declared, your NEET scorecard will include your subject-wise marks (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), your total score, 

your percentile, your All India Rank, and your qualifying status based on the applicable cutoff for your category.

Qualifying Cutoff Percentiles for 2026

To qualify NEET UG 2026, candidates need to secure the following minimum percentiles, based on category:

General and General-EWS category candidates need a minimum of 50th percentile. General and General-EWS candidates 

with a disability need a minimum of 45th percentile. SC, ST, and OBC candidates, including those with a disability in these 

categories, need a minimum of 40th percentile.

These percentile-based cutoffs are recalculated each year based on that year's overall performance, so the actual marks 

corresponding to these percentiles will only be confirmed once the result is out.

How Ties Are Broken

If two or more candidates end up with the same score or percentile, NTA applies a fixed sequence of tie-breaking rules, 

in this order: higher marks in Biology first, then higher marks in Chemistry, then higher marks in Physics, followed by a 

lower proportion of incorrect-to-correct answers across all subjects, and finally similar proportional checks applied subject by subject. If a tie still remains after all of this, it is resolved through a random process overseen by an independent committee.

What Happens After the Result

Once your result is declared and you've confirmed you meet the qualifying cutoff, the next major step is NEET UG 

counselling, conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota seats, and by respective state 

authorities for state quota seats. Keep your scorecard, class 10 and 12 certificates, category certificate (if applicable), and 

identity proof ready in advance, since counselling registration typically opens soon after the result and moves quickly.
